The World Predator Classic is entering its 5th year and has quickly become a prestigious and highly contested competition on the sports fishing calendar. This year’s event takes place on the 11th-16th June in Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands.
Zander, Pike and Perch are the target species, with a huge prize purse in excess of £70,000 on offer. Entries are limited to 50, with this years’ prize list including 1st to 10th place overall, longest fish in each category, team event prizes (first to third) and a best sportsmanship award.
Team Lowrance have a strong line-up in hope to win some titles this year. Those on the team this year include; Ulf Stuermer, Robin Grompe, Tom Heyer & Christian Wienecke who have formed a solid team, with years of sports fishing experience between them. Last year’s competition was a success for team Lowrance, who managed to win the award for longest Zander. This year the team have a lot to live up to and have ambitions to win big!
Introducing the team for 2018:
Ulf Stürmer - Essen, Germany.
This will be Ulf’s fourth year as a competitor at the WPC and the third time he has crewed a boat with Robin. Ulf is no stranger to fishing tournaments, competing at last year’s Lure masters and the NKS Tournament for Zander with Christian Wieneke, another member of the Lowrance team this year.
Robin Grompe - Schwerte, Germany.
Robin is a professional fishing guide and works in a fishing shop based in Dortmund. He has been involved with sport fishing all his life and participated in a number of high profile European street- and boat fishing tournaments in 2017.
Christian Wieneke - Witzhave, Germany.
Christian heads up the ‘Savage’ fishing gear brand for the German speaking area in Europe. He has competed in numerus boat and street fishing tournaments throughout Europe and this year will be his fourth appearance at the World Predator Classic.
Tom Heyer - Haunetal, Germany.
With a passion for technology Tom spends a lot time making adjustments to his boat to fish the different waters. Spending a lot of time optimizing his sonar set up and using new technologies to catch better fish. His home waters are the Fulda River and Lake Edersee. The biggest fascination for Tom is Pike, its size and wild character give him a real buzz of adrenalin to catch.
Team Lowrance will be fishing from 2 fully branded boats for 2018, kitted out with the most up-to-date products from Lowrance . Both crews have a wealth of competitive experience between them and we wish them the very best of luck.
